Claudette Garcon earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Warner University in 2009. After earning her social work degree, she worked in child welfare for nearly a decade in the role of a case manager and senior child protective investigator. Her experience working in child welfare influenced her decision to be more of an effective vital link between home, school, and community. For the past five years, she has worked as a certified school social worker in primary and secondary schools with Polk County School District, where she provides direct and indirect services to students, families, and school personnel to promote and support students’ academic success. She is currently a Master of Social Work graduate student at Walden University. Her goal upon graduation is to provide support and mental health services to individuals and groups in her community.
